Why does the bank ask for so much?
Under anti-money-laundering rules the bank has to know the beneficial owner, understand where the money comes from and verify that the activity makes economic sense. With a non-resident and a newly created company, that review is stricter.
Most rejections come not from the client profile but from an incomplete file, an unlegalised translation or a badly explained corporate purpose. That is what we work on before the bank sees it.
Who opens the account and who signs?
The account holder is your company and the signatory is the director or an attorney with a notarial power. Filnet cannot sign for them: we prepare the file, arrange the bank meeting and support the opening call.
What documentation does Filnet prepare?
The full file in the format each bank requires, with translation and apostille where needed:
Key points
- Incorporation deed and current articles
- Tax number and tax status certificate
- Director identity and proof of address
- Proof of activity: customers, contracts or forecast invoices
- Source of funds and source of wealth of the beneficial owner
- Twelve-month cash plan if the bank asks for it
Traditional bank or neobank?
A neobank opens in days with no visit, but it may not work for domiciled payroll, financing or customers demanding a local IBAN. A traditional bank takes longer and asks more, but supports the full operation better.
We choose with you based on actual use: international collections, director card, confirming lines, currency exchange or guarantees.
How long does it take and what does it cost?
Depending on the bank and the country, opening takes from a few days to a few weeks, and the clock starts when the file is complete, not when it is sent. Preparing the bank file is part of the launch plan and is quoted with your case.
